About Carene Kunkler
Former Marketing Executive with Proctor and Gamble
A graduate of Michigan State University, Carene Kunkler holds a bachelor of science and a master of business administration in marketing. Over the course of nearly three decades in the marketing industry, Carene Kunkler has created branding strategies for products including Pert shampoo, for which her advertising copy and promotional materials contributed to $75 million in revenue.
Ms. Kunkler worked in the advertising and marketing division of The Procter & Gamble Company from 1979 to 1987. She then joined LensCrafters, Inc., where she held positions including general manager of stores and senior marketing director. In her position as vice president of product supply, Ms. Kunkler increased sales and profits through the creation of a co-op program and a private label program as well as the development of scratch-resistant and prescription sunglass lenses.
Recognized by the Cincinnati Business Courier in Who’s Who Among Women in Business, Carene Kunkler received the 2003 Pleiades Award from the Optical Women’s Association. In her free time, she enjoys practicing yoga, skiing, and watching women’s golf.
